wetsanding touch up paint?

so, how long should i wait? its dealership laquer Victory red touch up paint and clear coat touch up, laquer as well...i built up a little bit around the area that wasnt damaged just so i wouldnt rub through the factory clear coat when wet sanding. so, the question is how long should i wait?

just a few hours should be good, but your going to have to buff it with a high speed buffer after wetsanding to get the scratches out of the clear coat. First use a wool pad with cutting compound, and then a foam pad with polish.

It's best to let paint and clear at least set overnight before wetsanding anyway.

If i have to color sand a vehicle after painting, we wait at least 24 hours before color sanding/buffing. We even wait 24 hours before pinstriping a vehicle. Thats what dupont reccomends for their chromaclear (similar to factory clear)

sweet, i waited the 24 hours, and it looks better than i thought it would, the touch up is slightly darker than the origal paint, but you have to have your face within 2 feet of the hood to see where the chips were...im waiting till the paint is hardened before i start attacking it with finishing compound then polish it off with meguires fine cut cleaner then finish it off with sealer then the liquid wax. gonna let it harden a bit before i start the polishing.
