spray tint on back of a sunfire, how to?

hey i want my sunfire to look like the photo above and i was wondering if you had to lightly scuff the lights and the center peice for the spray tint to stick or just spray it on. thanks

Ive used night shade and turned out great, however, if i ever tinted them again id prob use window tint. My front corner markers faded and u have to constantly polish them to keep their shine. Another thing to note is lights that are tinted are very hard to see in direct sunlight. Hense why theyre illegal

Oh and yes u need to sand them using a wet sand to allow scuff for the paint to adhere. If they are heavily scratched then use a 400-600 grit and work ur way up. U will also need to clean them after with alcohol or a degreaser to remove all dust and oils
