I was reading through the how to on the 4 beam Cav headlights and it got me thinking. Is there anyway to do something like that on a single beam or would it burn up the bulb?

exactly. if people have melted sockest running only 10-15w higher headlights, i cant imagine that tossing another 60w on top of it would last very long.

unless you want the bulb to do one of the following:

*burn out
*melt
*balloon out
*explode

don't attempt it.
