Ok.
I recently replaced my transmission ('02, 2200, 5spd).
I got everything together and took it around for a drive that night, with no problems whatsoever.
I drive it the next day to work (about 60 miles) and the anti lock brake, and brake lights come on. I would also hear my radar detector beep every so often and when it did it would display "hi volt".
I got the car to work, parked, and shut it off. I tried to restart it and it was dead. I popped the hood and found that my negative battery cable was a touch loose, so i tightened it and everything works 100% again.
I just want to ask if that loose connection could cause wierd things like that to happen, also, there havent been any problems since (about 4 days 120+ miles each day).
Am I good to go?
A loose ground could cause the charging system to go out of whack, which could lead to weird voltages causing weird stuff to happen in the computer (ABS). So yes, it's very possible that that was the problem, but I'm not going to say I'm 100% absolutely sure.
Well, its been fine for a couple days now, so I attribute it to that being the problem.
Thanks for the reply tho, Im just looking to confirm my suspicion, which I think is right anyways, I just dont wanna get stuck on the way to work or something because of an electrical failure of some kind. I have inspected things under the hood since (visual, and reseated all the connections I could get to). I think its fine now.
Thanks!
