I was having a look around my rear suspension while instaling a z24 sway bar and I noticed my rear shock tower was looking a little rusty (nothing serious but still, its rust) around were the shock goes into the trunk, so I pulled the carpet out of my trunk to have a look at the inside to see how bad it was and some idiot covered the hole top of the shock tower in short hair fiberglass. I cant even see the mount for the shock anymore and I really dont feel like sanding it all off. Does anyone know any good quick ways to remove fiberglass without to much work. I want to get all this off so I can fix it properly.

if you have a steady hand... use a grinder....
I'll probobly use the grinder cause I'm probobly going to end up cutting the mount out of another car and welding it in, I'm replacing teh shocks anyways soon so I'll just leave the old shock attached to teh metal cause I cant unbolt it from it with all teh fiberglass in the way, lol
But it dosent look to bad from the outside, I was hoping someone knew of somesort of chemical that eats fiberglass or something.
Acetone and Laquor Thinner... but they work best before the fibreglass hardens...
would they do anything after it has hardened?
it actually depends... if they glassed over clear coat ... both will loosen it up ... however if they tried to do it properly and sanded down the paint first... then its not really gonna do a thing... youre best bet is to grind it down...

i meant to say base coat... i dont think GM sprayed clear inside the vehicle ... i could be wrong though ..... fibreglass adhears best to bare metal or bare fibreglass...
The person never prepped it or anything and they did a pretty crappy job, I pried most of it off with a flat head screwdriver after pulling chunks of it off with my hands, lol. It came off in big chunks and I could see the tower and it wasnt to bad but still bad enough I think it needs some attention, so I'm doing some welding soon
