I am trying to get the doors off a 1st Generation, but since the pins in the upper hinges are the same on 2nd gen...

How do you remove those pins? I'm told to tap them through from the top, but that just doesn't seem to be working. I'm thinking there's a sleeve that goes over the pin as it is put through the bottom part of the hinge at the factory, and I would have to maybe pull off that sleeve from the top somehow to get the pin out from the bottom.

Any ideas?
