My buddy has a 2.2 eco that came out of his grand am. It broke the timing chain and bent the valves. Would this hurt the block in any way? I'm planning on patriot head, aftermarket pistons anyway, so i figured this would eb a great engine to get (I can get it for almost nothing) to use to build an engine for boost.

no it wont hurt anything as long as the valve didnt dent the cylinder wall, just make sure to take it to a machine shop and get it bored because it will probably have some taper and out of round possibly
I'm gonna be using 10:1 CR wiseco pistons .020 overbore

I'm going for 300whp, are the injectors that come with the hahn stage II kit enough for 300hp, or should I upgrade injectors?
Also, I don't want the whiny sound of an inline fuel pump. Is the walbro 255 quiet? I also heard that a blazer fuel pump hotwired would be a good solution...

why are you going with 10:1 pistons?

It'll still give me plenty of power before the turbo spools up.

High compression pistons, combined with boost = KABOOM!!!!! Just run a 16g there is virtually no lag at all, im going to be pushing 20 psi when I figure out how to stop my high idle (p0507 code) I should push around 320-350 out of mine!
I've been reading up on some boosted eco builds, and I'm pretty sure it won't go kaboom with 10:1 CR and boost if it's tuned properly.

Higher compression won't cause boom, it'll just be a little harder to tune for.

ya cuz 10:1 is high compression
question for ya philly boy, whats the eco's compression stock?.....
and when i buy my forged pistons for my boost build they will at the least be 10:1
lol @ 10:1 being bad for boost. stock LD9 ones are 9.7:1, and how many have boosted them no problem

.....Ok, who here knows the LNF's compression.......
anyone?

lol wow i was just curious why, not doggin on him... It's not a bad idea to get more power, but there is always a chance of detonation with a boosted car. high or low compression.

I should have no troubles with 10:1 CR if I get it tuned properly.

correct, plus keep a good eye on your egt and wideband gauges during long sustained pulls, I would personally just go with 8.9:1 cr pistons, it wont hurt that much

i agree with phil... why chance a motor when you are only gonna loose a few horses with lower compression pistons?
and trust me, having to change motors, is no fun... going on number 3... i dont have very good luck i guess... i wish i could say all of them were while i was running it, but no, they were all when i was casually driving...

I'm hvaing it tuned by a professional on the dyno. Anyone know where I can get the dash bezel with the 2 gauges above the HVAC?

According to the eco sticky, the stock CR is 10:1, and there are lots of people running 10+ psi on stock engine. Darkstars should be done his build long before I am, so only time will tell if he has any problems...
