Hey check this out....
nullCheap Ebay Cast Turbo Manifold for the 2.4L LD9
i know it is ebay, and probably crappier than alot of more expencive options.. but i hear cast is better to begin with.... and this looks kinda nice and is really pretty reasonable compared to the other options i have found so far.
but what headaches would i be facing with this? what could be wrong with it? could it be made decent for less than the cost of a much more $$$ option?
(everywhere else i found that sells 2.4L turbo manifolds wants like $400 for them. and they are welded, which everywhere i read says that is inferior to the cast models.)
same manifold i run. never had any problems with it.
well let me rephrase that, if i want to put an intake on my car i have to put a riser on it and turn the turbo the other way. honestly i might get rid of mine and get th one from vulcan.

I think the cast mani's are nice because they can take a lot of heat cycles. the only thing I see, is there is no egr provision, which probably doesnt concern you all that much. As long as you can fit the turbo you want to run there, should be a nice starter mani.
since someone else is running it....i would ask them what size/style turbo they are running....
sorry should have been specific... i have a 50 trim.

eeeee no air filter... just makes me cringe! i dont care how tight of space there is i would NEVER run with out a filter... unless you either dont plan on keeping the car long or like to tear it apart and build it back up...

blue car (R.I.P) - 240whp @7psi..
silver car - 305whp 315lbs.tq @15psi (91 Octane) or 420whp & 425lbs.TQ @20psi (94 octane+Alcohol Injection)
All dynos run on a Mustang dyno
you could call it a disposable block if you will... its gone now and my turbo is turned the other way with a filter on it.. no worries anymore
but i had to spend another 40 or 50 bucks for a riser plate so i could turn the turbo around.. grrrr....

its supposed to be a very nice manifold, been talked about a few times here. one problem is with the top mount turbo like that, there isnt a lot of room for a large turbo before the turbo might smack off the firewall from the engine shifting in the engine bay. regardless, for the price, probably one of the better manifolds around.

would this still be an issue with poly engine mounts? and how "big" of a turbo would start to hit?
do you think you could do like the torque chains (like a chain or cable from the engine to the chasis/body to prevent it from moving too much.. i saw this alot on older track cars)
Does anyone have pics of a turbo setup like this on a 2.4L?
I just would hate to buy the manifold, and go to bolt my (yet decided upon) turbo on and find it doesnt fit.
that would kinda suck a bit...

It is being used with a T3/T4 50 trim by peteyparker311 (said above), which is a 400whp turbo. Considering the number of 400+ hp 2.4L's on this site can be counted on one hand i think you'll be okay as long as you don't use a stupidly big turbo. If i were in the market for a log style manifold i'd buy this one for sure.

the way my turbo sat before i still had about 2-2.5 inches between the turbo and firewall and my engine never rocked enough to hit.
and sorry i didnt take any pics. i will of the new set-up though... she is under construction... yet again...
