I just bought the stage one kit from the classified and am wondering about which nozzle to use with my setup. I have been looking at their website and they say they have 6 different nozzles under the installation instructions for the kit but on the main page where you buy the kit it says it comes with 2 nozzles. I'm out of province right now and can't take a look at the kit to see what actually came with the kit but am wondering if anyones knows how many nozzles come with it and which ones they are. On the installation instructions it says:
Yellow - 60 ml/min
Black - 100 ml/min
Green - 175 ml/min
Purple - 225 ml/min
Red - 375 ml/min
Blue - 625 ml/min
And further in the instuctions it says "recommended starting points":
250-350 rwhp - 175 ml/min
350-475 rwhp - 375 ml/min
475 - 600 rwhp - 625 ml/min
Well I haven't got the car tuned and dynoed yet so I don't know my whp right now, but they guy tuning it said he would think around 240 whp +/- 10 whp (these are just estimates from him). I am wondering if I do run somewhere in that range, should I go with the black or green nozzle? I'd like to find out the hp range for the black nozzle but could only find the ratings for the green, purple and red. I'm not sure if I should go with the green. Not sure if I should use the green and run on the higher side of the hp rating for that nozzle or to go a little bigger to be on the safe side. If anyone could help me out that would be great. I've been trying to get though to snow performance on the phone but am not having great luck. thanks in advance.
Start with the black. You are much better off not spraying enough then spraying to much. The problem most people have is they spray too much. By the way that is nozzle I am using-not the same brand but the same flow rate.

BTW not sure what you are doing for a boost switch but keep in mind your engine can't use as much spray in the lower rpms as it can in the upper rpm. Also I would set you boost switch to come on at around 4-5psi. More later but I have got to finish up something here at work.

Yeah...I am planning on only spraying when at higher boost....I really only need the alky at WOT, which is usually at the track and on the streets once in a while...if I am on the highway cruizing at 100km/hr and go up a hill I don't really need it to kick in at 2-3psi cause I am not looking for performance then. At WOT I'm always usually above 4psi regardless of my rpm. I am just using the manually adjust boost switch. I'm pretty sure the kit comes with an LED to show when it is injecting so I will just set the boost switch using the LED and my boost guage. Set it at around 4 psi, that sound like a good place to set it?
I was just going to add that most sites reccomend having your alky start spraying at half of your total boost level. This theory works better on turbo cars because the amount of boost you build is more closely related to your rpms than with a supercharger. Since the m45 builds so little boost and can build nearly full boost at under 2500 rpm from my experience it has been a good idea to set it to start spraying closer to your max boost at 4-5 psi. If you have a on/off style boost switch if you set it to come on at half of you max boost 2-3psi you could be spraying that at under 2000 rpm and really bog the engine down.
But yeah anyway seems like you are on the right track. What size pulley are you running?

I got the 2.7" pulley right now....I wouldn't mind getting the 2.6" pulley but I want to take it easy on my engine until I rebuild it next winter. Not sure how much of a difference the 2.6" pulley would make at this point but maybe this fall I will look into one...I may take a peak at smooth flow pulleys to see how much they are costing now, might be a decent upgrade for me to get a little bit more power out of my setup before I get the bigger injectors and tune done.
I'm still wondering which nozzles come with the stage 1 kit...I hope there is one that will work with my setup. I'll probably have the boost switch set to 4 psi. Usually I don't see 4 psi when I am on the highway or going to work unless I come onto it. Usually only gets to 1-2 psi on the highway. Anyways, I may have to see if my dad can take a look in the box to see what it came with.
So I just called my dad and he took a look at the kit. I guess the kit comes with a green and a purple nozzle (175 ml/min and a 225 ml/min). Wondering if the green one will be ok to run with my setup? I may look around to see if I can order a new one, but it looks like I'll be running the green one for a little while. Anyways, wondering if anyone else is running the green nozzle and if that is working well for them. Any help would be appreciated.
