As some of you guys know from me asking your opinions or posting up some questions I am doing turbo Z24 build for my Internal Combustion Engines course at Allegany College of Maryland. Well I started my build about three weeks ago and I though I would start to post up some pictures of my progress.
If some of you haven't seen my other posts this is my planned build list. (subject to change with finances)lol

More to come as it gets done. I only have engine labs on tuesday so it makes it hard, I spend as much spare time as I can so hopefully I won't be too long between updates.

my bad first time I ever posting pics. is it my camera or switching them from photobucket that did it? lol i will figure it out and redo it tonight.
Thanks alot! I will remember that next time!
looks good to me. nice solid rebuild.
did you have any kind of porting done on the head? ss valves/bronze guides?
The head got a mild port and polish but only got stock replacement guides and stock valves. I know I should have went with the stainless valves and the bronze guides but just like any other build the budget gets tight and you have to sacrifice things. It sucks but I am certain it will be apart again and I will do the head right the second time around.
You don't really need bronze valve guides since there aren't any push rods and rockers putting a side load on the valves.
Nice build you got going on there, Im doing the same but my mine kinda slowed down since I have other priorities that need to be addressed
Nice to see another Maryland'er though! Specialy another turbo z
Only thing I would have done additionally would have been to at least resuface the block surface deck where the head bolts on.
Currently #4 in Ecotec Forced Induction horsepower ratings. 505.8 WHP 414WTQ!!!
Currently 3rd quickest Ecotec on the .org - 10.949 @ 131.50 MPH!!!
I would have but both the machine shop and I checked it and it didn't even have .001" warp. Hard to believe huh? I had to see it with my own eyes.

you dont need a lot of things in an engine but we still do them.
besides, they resist heat better and look sweet when installed
We all need somebody to believe in something...
put the oil line into the up closer to the rail , i had 1 in my old 1 lower and it sucked
also if you are gonna put that in a car with a auto trans thats not the right spot
No its a five speed so I should be clear.
