fuel alternative for a a turbo set up.

ok so i got a buddy that has a 1995 dodge neon 2.0 motor is build, now with stock injectors he is running a 5th injector off his second injector into the beginning of the manifold and then he has a 6th injector right infront of his intercooler for a pre air mixture running off his 4th injector. sounds rediculus to me but would this work and not be harmful in anyway of is my buddy just out of his @!#$ mind?

I have seen a car running a 5th injector. IIRC it had the stock injectors plus one extra 650cc RC injector in the intake. Not sure how he had it set up but it is possible but definately not the way to go. I would like to see individual A/F ratios for each cylinder to see exactly how much fuel is getting to each one. I bet it is not evenly distributed but then again I could be wrong but definatly not the best setup or else everyone would be doing it. If you want to be safe, reliable and make decent power, install the correct injectors and tune the car. In the long run a healthy motor is a happy motor.

Usually fifth injectors are supported with something like this fellow: http://www.sdsefi.com/eic.html

Going off another injector sounds like a HORRIBLE idea, you would be lowering the fuel going into that cylinder FOR SURE. There would be less voltage across that injector if you wired in series, and if you wired in parallel you would end up pulling twice the amps the the injector driver is used to seeing. And that would eventually burn out the driver and you would need to buy another ECU.

just thought i would see others opinions. im going with meth injection. just sounds like a 5th or even a 6th injector is crazy.

I get teh basic idea but wouldn't independent throttle bodies be a better way to go? I don't know much about each. this seems to be what he is attempting to accomplish with less work. I agree though that even fuel disperment may not happen unless everything is flow benched and properly matched for proper air fuel ratio.

I accidentally the SHIFT LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig

jesus 8, so im guessing your runninng 2 injectors off a single port. i dont know were you have them positioned but im hoping you have a larger fuel pump.

how is ITB's going to increase fuel to each cylinder.... tell me.

-Trailblazer SS - not so custom 6.0L - custom intake - custom tune
- (1) 2.4L on an engine stand (1) blown trans (2) good quad trans (1) eco trans = party

the best way to go would just get larger injectors

running rich? turn the boost up

kevin not necessarily, the best way for a J is the port fueler period. I maintain out of boost drivability with in boost tunability. and a boost referenced fuel system. I got 35 mpg on the way to the bash.

Buying a manufactured portfueler is a much better idea than making your own. Injector placement and angle is very important or else youre going to get fuel puddling and an uneven fuel mixture.

jumping extra injectors off the normal injectors is a dangerous game. there would be no fuel control as the extra injectors will fire with the normal injectors so off boost drivability will sacrifice. purchase an extra injector controller. this way you can put the injectors in the boost pipes just before the throttle body. most setups use two extra injectors in the boost pipes just before the throttle plate. you will need to plum fuel lines and weld injectors bosses into the boost pipes. the downside to this setup is its limited in boost pressure as it cannot adjust timing.

the most cost effective fuel enrichment would be larger injectors and a custom tune if your looking to boost more than 8-10 psi.

Joe the Port Fueler is programmed with split second software, it uses that and only comes on in boost, it has it's on 5 bar map sensor
