Before people start screamin' at me to use the search option... I did and I got tons of info on there, especially the "Install w/Pictures" thread. I know what wires connect to eachother. My only question may be a stupid one but I just want to make sure I have everything right before I start doing anything. I am basically supposed to solder the Shift + the wires that they go to right? I basically just make a bare spot on the wire and soder the shift plus wire to the PCM wire and then seal everything up to keep moisture out right? I don't have to cut the existing PCM wires to install this do I? I hope I'm decribing this well enough, lol. Here's a picture if that helps any. The color of the wires in the picture don't reflect the actual wire colors. I just picked the first colors I saw since I did this pretty quickly:
Like I said, I just wanna make sure I'm connecting these wires the right way before I attempt this myself. I hear some people like to use butt-connectors, but that would involve cutting the existing wiring which I would rather not do if I don't have to. I can easily just solder them like in the picture and then seal it back up if I am correct. Can anyone verify this for me so I don't screw this up, lol. I just wanna know if I can do it this way, joining the B&M wire to the PCM wire without cutting. Or is cutting a must? I appreciate any help. =)

Solder is the best method for making connections... I have been meaning to solder my connection (ever since I bought it a couple years ago), but haven't really felt motivated enough to do it. However, I haven't had any problems with the shift+ as long as I have had it.
I would strip a whole section of the plastic sheath protecting the PCM wire, that way you can wrap the B&M shift+ wire around the PCM wire, which will provide both more contact points and make it easier to solder. You don't have to cut the PCM wire in half.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.

Cool, thanks for the info. That's exactly the answer I was hoping for.
I really don't like to cut wires if I don't have to. I'll definitely do like you said and strip it the whole way around the little section and wrap the B&M wire around it before solder. I'm gonna do this later on today. Can't wait. From most of the threads I read, a lot of people seemed very pleased with it. Can I switch modes while driving?
