There is a bulb. It's an actual blinker. Your red light is just for brakes and running lights,

that's where the wiring conversion comes into play sir. i have them on my car. it's not a big deal really. the amber outer part is your turn signal and the red inner part is your brake light. and as always, the most inner piece in your trunklid does absolutely nothing but serve as a reflector. i have found that the toyota tails have a better reflector and the white reverse light section seems to be clearer in the toyo tails as opposed to more smokey white in the udsm tails. just my .02

Wrong the harness is needed your stock ones will not work right i know cause i tried

and there are two types the 95-99 ones

and the 00-02 type

doesn't take long to install 30 min at the most considering the condition of the harnesses when you get them

so theoretically you could just leave it wired like a US car and only use the red part? I dont have a cav, just thought about that

Yes, but it would look retarded and nobody would see your blinker from the sides of your car.

Will these toyo light conversions work on sunfires or are they for the Cavy boys and girls only? I have a 97' Sunfire and hate my tail lights. Has anyone tried to put other lights in as well?

Cavalier taillights (any kind) will work on a 4-door Sunfire.. since it's the same sheet metal. Sunfire coupes use different lights... and it won't work (yes, people have tried before).

As for the years on lights... just to correct the error... it's 96-99 (not 95.. there was no 95 Toyota Cavalier) and just 2000.. (there was no 01 or 02 Toyota Cavalier).

You don't need the complete body harness (it costs $1500!).. you can modify your existing wiring harness, and add the extra socket for the turn signal bulb. .kURt. already posted the instructions.
