im looking into getting a carbon fiber hood and trunk. was wondering who makes a good product that isnt going to fade real quick?
I don't have any personal experience, but I have heard a lot of good things about VIS CF products.
Summit Racing I
do have personal experience with. I highly recommend them as a company. They've always come through for me and have great customer service in my opinion.
yea, just wierd that jc is so much cheaper, over 100 bucks cheaper than some sites. anyone else with opinions?
if you buy VIS products, you'll be impressed by them. i got my invader hood a year ago, it fits perfectly, the weave is flawless, and it hasn't faded at all.
This was after about a year of use being on the car through a Chicago winter (lot and lots and lots of salt) after a quick wash and wax. Fitment was not quite OEM fit but I am overly picky, it fits very wells, held up very well, very very minimal imperfections in the weave. My only real complain was a few tiny dimples in the gelcoat, but you couldn't see them untill I had the eyelids molded in and parts of the hood painted. It not top of the line perfect by any means but for comapnies that make stuff for J-bodys they are your best bet
You will be very happy with VIS products.

VIS is damn good. I have mine, OEM Cf hood. Painted stock silver on top fiber still shows on bottom. i love it.
ViS is a good company. My buddy has a ViS CF hood on his civic and it looks sweet.

then how bout JSP since there 100 bucks cheaper. any good?
i love my vis hood and trunk. i also have the invador hood like darkstars, only mine's for a 95-02. the fitment is really good. the trunk has a slight problem in that the top corners dip down a little, but i'm planning to fix that asap along with all the other projects i'm currently in the middle of.
got mine fitment is a bit funny on the drivers side but other then that its a great hood. I also got the vis invader hood
I've only heard good things about VIS. Be warned though that if you order something from VIS it may take for ever to get. I ordered the invader hood through Gravana near the end of May and I'm still waiting for it. The worst part is everytime I e-mail them and ask about it they say something like oh VIS thinks it'll be in the container that they're supposed to get this week. THen a week goes by and I e-mail them again and they're like oh sorry it wasn't in that one, maybe it'll be in the next container. It' getting F'n rediculous, how hard is it to know where my damn hood is. Sorry for getting a little off topic but just be warned that it may take a while to get the hood.
Yeah i also have the vis cf invader hood on my sunfire sedan, awesome hood, and like cannon fodder said, the weave is awesome, flawless, does not fade, fits awesome.
My buddy has a seibon cf hood on his mazda 6, that is also awesome, but the weave is a little messed up in a few spots.
I heard jsp was good also.
98 j-body sedan

Which one did you order, I've had my order in since end of may for my VIS Invader and am being told it's still outta stock. Gravana told me that and I checked with Aplus(Jason) to see if he could get it any faster and he confirmed that it was out of stock.
^^ Yeah im wondering that as well, is it still outta stock neongreencavi?

I just installed my VIS carbon fiber invader hood today. It has a tight weave and and thick clear coat. If you have the money to spend, VIS is definately worth it.
^^Where did you get yours and how long did it take to get to you?

I got my VIS OEM hood through Jason (A Plus). It got damaged slightly in shipping, but that's not VIS or Jason's fault -- it's the trucking companies... there was actually a hole in the box that they tried to cover with one of those stick on packing slip holders... Anyway I'm waiting for a replacement... but I bolted mine down loosely just for photos...
The fit is perfect even though nothing is fully bolted down, and I found absolutely no flaws in the weave.
FYI for anyone currently looking...
The 95-02 Cavalier Invader is on backorder but should come in shortly.
The 95-02 Cavalier EVO is IN STOCK and shipping at this time.
