No one is getting on you. I just know that you would have oppostion against it that is all. I know you are not the only one. I see people agreeing to the rotating meeting in the winter.

i personally want to know who is against the main meet being in Orlando. I am reading through posts trying to figure out who is against having it in one location. We are not trying to fight here we just want to come to an agreement. I just want to know this is a democracy if the majority decided that we have it rotating i am fine with that.

Really the turn out was because people prior engagements. Even if it was somewhere else they would not have come. And if it was somewhere else those who drove up that day would not have come so the show would have been smaller. If people are coming from another state then location is not going to matter because depending on where they are driving from it will still be a good distance.

i know John is going to fight on this one.

well with the cobalts i am not sure if that is gonna be a great idea now mind you i am not a big fan of them but if they are their its cool. i am only saying that bc they are not js and if everyone agrees this is a j-show for js only. as for the travleing thing its a good idea to make the fall / winter meet more of a cruise and food deal bc the weather would be cooler which equals nice cruising weather. as for the dodges and ford etc. etc... after thinking about it for a bit i am not sure i would want any other car groups their except chevy and pontiac although maybe some saturns would be ok i guess since they mostly have our motors. althou having frank bring his srt4 i could deal with since he did have a cavy and is still active in the j scene as well as runs a j-body company with the help of herman of course. i think the main meet should stay in orlando bc race rock is a great themed area for what we are doing and their are plenty of hotels around for ppl to stay as well as other things to do like citywalk and downtown disney for afterwards. but i say we open a vote later on for these things bc yes it is to early to tell whats going ot happen next year and all..

We have to also think that the Cavalier is no produced any more and may need to expand to other GM cars.

NO BODY SAID THAT THE WHOLE SHOW HAD TO BE PLANNED RIGHT NOW... we are just trying to throw around the idea so that 2 months prior to the next show people are not on here scrambling around trying to figure out where it is going to be and who is going to host it, BECAUSE then WE ALL will be lacking the organization that was posted prior and that is what we are trying to avoid early on.

It would be nice if we could ALL plan the meet at least 6-8 months in advance so that we can make up flyers, do some fund raising, make some contacts with sponsors instead of doing this the month before the show. If we want it to be BIGGER, we all need to get involved NOW instead of making the negative comments about how no one will care. We are all suppose to care but yes things will come up that will piss each one of us off but that is kind of what happens in "any family" and that is what were are all suppose to be acting like, "one big happy family", (notice the key words, "acting like")!

Ok John, i will apologize for saying that. I am not trying to rub anyone the wrong way. You opinion is valid. I will agree to what ever the masses want.

I think the one location will give out meets more organization and give us an opportunity to have more sponsors get involved. It is nice to tell other people who don't come on here that the show is in Orlando every year.

OK for the florida J show maybe we should not open it up to doemstics --- But all GM sport compacts --- Saturns, cobalt, aveo, saabs ---

as for the show at the race rock --- I am not against having the show in one location each year and I know the Race Rock likes us and is an easy place to host it --

But in the previous years I think the show was alot more geared towards fellowship -- getting to know each other --- yes there will always be the car show and voting aspect --- but anyone like me does not go to the show to win awards or to prove my car is above anyone elses I do not complain about voting I go to see what other people are doing to there cars and make freinds

when we were having the show and then going to a park or something to that nature to have a bbq I thought it really gave us a chance to get to know one another. Gave us a chance to hang out -- The only problem I have with the Race rock (besides the helicopters) is the fact we are taking that aspect out of the show ---- maybe if we had the show there and then caravaned to a park or something of that nature it would bring that back -

I would not mind donating more money to the cause, I would help with the planning if needed --

------ also this year the track day turnout was flat out aweful --- I know that orlando speed world might not be the fastest track out there but you should be able to post pretty decent times -----

I dunno i felt this year was not like the years before for some reason -- it was missing something

Agree to alot of this. This event has turned out to be more about show and awards, and not the people. That is also why i like moving it around.

Me too -- our best turnout was Ocala --- I had fun at the fort lauderdale show --- I dunno max you are talking a 4 hour drive for me no matter where it is in florida and I can hack that ---

I already said we would be happy to host on in Tampa -- I have some places picked out already and there is plenty of us down here to plan it --

I just would like to see some of the fellowship back --

This is what I was thinking. After this years show everybody went there own ways. Luckily I was able to get back up with some people and hung out that night. We need to get back together after the show for a cookout or something.

I know i was not there for the show. I was there to see people. I though i was going to see John there and some others that could not be helped.

I wanted to go to the track but i was not prepared to run at the track. May be next time. I didn't want to run on my 18's. i am still trying to find some 14's or 15's to run on.

I accept. Thanks

I feel the best meet we ever ad was the one in Fort Lauderdale. It was relaxed, and fun, meet people and enjoyed.

If this is so for out of state people then it should not matter for in state people as well.

Sorry had all plans to be there but night before lockled the keyes in the Reaper and my car is having issues.

That is fine.
Yeah bad oxygen sensor, and sometimes it will run and sometimes it will not. The Reaper is great just has the keyd locked in it right now. Did it while it was running.

That is his name. We just got his car back running put a new motor in it out of a 2001. It runs great now!!

i didnt read the rest of this post but im not happy about it being in orlando because its kinda far, but its better than north florida

so.. thats why im just kinda indifferent about it and like the idea of a floating show

Sweet man! I saw your other car at the track when I was leaving, then I was wandering why you weren't at the show.

John - out of a Grand Am if I'm not mistaken? I had the pleasure of parking next to him at the show. Him and his wife are very cool.

Just so we can deal with this on a more professional level. If people can join the Yahoo mail list for Florida and vote. On this, we can not complain if we don't get a chance to vote. Right now it is really just opinions but we need to do this right.

well i guess so i am trying to find away to get people to do a poll. trying to make a post to do a poll here is a pain. The yahoo is not visited so that should mean if people get on there now there would be a fresh start to conversation. Most people who were on there are not there any more and have left and really don't frequent this site any more either.
