Just turned 14,000 on my 88 Sunbird Turbo GT convertible.
well the 92 finally dropped a rod, off to the boneyard she goes 206,xxx miles on a 4 year old racecar gotta love the 2.2. My dd 91 Cavalier 2.2 just rolled over to 112,000. Got a 96 5spd 2.2 to race for next year.
Theres a 91 VL auto exactly like mine with the same wheels on Ebay. It only has 342,000 miles. I was like wow I can't believe the transmission would hold up that long. I'll have to drive mine for another 20 years to get that many miles. WOW
I am over a quarter million miles and still going.
i have ALOT on my 89 Z24 lol here see for urself

its had the bearings and rings done once
my dad had a 89 beretta 2.8L auto with about teh same miles as my 89 Z24^
About 135,000 on the '94 and just did the head gasket.
Hey guys, I just joined j-body.org. My 94 3.1 RS went 265,000 km on the original engine (I got it for free with the busted engine) and has 291,000 km now. I put in a GM Goodwrench longblock that I got from Scoggin-Dickey for $887.11 in February 2008. That was when the Canadian dollar was worth more than the US dollar; talk about a screaming deal! The tranny is still original but I'm making sure to keep enough room on my credit card to buy a new one.
My 88 has 32X,XXX on it, Killed the old 2.8 and now on a 3.1

440,000 km on my 94 'bird (3.1/5 spd) before the rear head gasket let go & I replaced the engine...& it did eat a trans at about 330K.
94 Sunbird LE 3.1/5spd purple/black sr
94 Sunbird LE 3.1/5spd blue/grey a/c/t
My 88 Cavalier VL 2.0 went 183,000 miles before I swapped in a 2.8 from a wrecked Z24. That engine had 145,000 miles on it when I put it in and it went for another 2,000 miles before I got rid of it.
My 94 Cavalier Wagon with the 2.2 SFI has 148,000+ on the ODO and it's still running strong. Hope to have it keep going to at least 200,000 miles.

How about the LOWEST mileage?
Here's my 1988 Sunbird GT Turbo Convertible with 15,000 original miles.
(It's for sale too!)
Well the DD 91 Cavalier Vl 2.2 auto just hit 115,000, havn't been driving it a whole lot. Had numerous issues this past year. It killed another Alternator. That makes 3 in the 7 years i've owned it. A 2nd headgaskets cause the water pump failed. 1 brake line rusted out, a couple of thermostats. Im pretty sure the head is warped so Im just gonna drive it until it dies or the transmission kills itself. Been a good car, but not worth investing any more money into it. Hopefully I will be getting a 3.1/ 5spd next spring. Now its time to look for something a little newer, 4 door, hopefully a 5 speed. I think most of the issues are cause the car is almost 20 years old and I live in the midwest.
My Dad has a 91 Pontiac Sunbird Convertible, has the 3.1 auto it's pretty fun, but something is heading south in the bottom end. Once the engine warms up, at idle the oil pressure drops to 0 unless you rev it up. But the 3.1 is alot more fun than my 2.2.
2 1/2 years after my last post on this thread, I'm still driving this thing, but now it's a winter car only, and I think it's seen it's last winter. I want to break 200k before I take it to the junk yard though. 197k right now.
Engine was rebuilt once at about 115k. Is on it's second clutch (done at the engine rebuild) and has been a great car for me. Has not let me down yet.
Would love to keep it, but living in IL, and seeing winters, the car is rusting away on me. holes in the body, had to custom build some adapters after the firewall rusted away where the steering rack connects. lost a Sway bar end last week in the big snow storm. Blew the Power steering pump a month ago too. On my 8th Alternator, but this one has now lasted 4 years. (Had a stocker built up to 160 amps and has worked great) A/c has been dead for 6 years, but heat works great.
Engine and trans have been great though. 3.1 with a 5 spd. still getting about 30 MPG in my mixed driving. I think I'm going to drive it till it dies this year though. Hopefully it doesn't take me with it though.
Everything Louder than Everything else

Is it pink? (and near IL?) if so it could be my first car....it was over 200k when I sold it to someone that didn't seem like they knew much about mantiance.

ah, well except for the color, it looks the same as my old one. Rusty doors and all. Maybe they didn't like the old color...lol. (Is that a stock color?)

yes that is a stock color almost everything on this car has been on it since factory
247,000 on my Sunbird. My first engine broke a chain 8,000 miles ago so I dropped in a used one and kept on going.
The odometer on my 91 sunbird quit two years ago at 168000 miles, the car is still going strong.
My '92 Z24 had 288K when I got rid of her, and it wasn't because the car wasn't running great (which it was), it was because the firewall split in half !
