There is no best. You are going to get 10 million opinions. Probably over 75% of those will be from people that have never used the sub they mention.

How much money do you want to spend? How much power do you have or plan on getting? How much trunk space do you want to give up?

If it's got a colored cone, weighs less than a lug nut, and costs under 30 bucks per sub, then they're the best . As for 3000 watts, i'm going to be running close to that, but only for competitions will i turn it up. Even at 1500 watts it rattles your brain.

Beat it like it owes you money

...Hmmm. I would suggest going to a local retailer and actually listen to some of the subs. Decided whats in your price range and how much power would that require. Please realize that once you get up there in power you SHOULD upgrade the big 3 and if need be a new HO Alt. Also if you want them loud, you should deadened your trunk and car. It helps out a little, and you won't rattle your car to pieces as fast.

As to there being a best subwoofer. Thats just a personnal preference. Its like asking which is better, Coke or Pepsi? Your going to have a mixed answer. Listen to the subs, decide what you like and go from there. People can tell you what they THINK is loud, but what they think is loud may not be to you. For instance, my brother owned 2 10" Dual subwoofers in their Bandpass box. He thought that he was the loudest car in omaha. I did us all a favor and burped my L5s for him and he sooned realized he had nothing...

Just go listen to them!

WEll if its SPL you are going for then you should look into DD9500 and 9900, RE mt, Atomic, Kicker solo x and L7 . Orion h2, Team RF, Treo CSX and SSX. Maybe some shockers. Welcome to expensive toy land.

id try to talk to people who actually compete, because if their not competing, they'd have no clue what is winning or not. and even if u narrow the questions to strictly people who compete there will be hundreds of opinions. try a dbdrag or iasca or usac site to see what allot of people are using, but there is no best, if there was one best brand, everyeone would be using them.

Not everyone can afford, or will pay for the best, there is one out there, but will everyone buy it? NO

Re: best sub's

if there was on that was proven to be the best i'm sure every competitor would buy them. if your competing to win why wouldnt you use the best sub? if not everyone a good majority, and if u could look at a comp and see that " hey 65% of the people are running this certain brand, that would lead u to believe that its better then the others.

and again hearing is subjective because no two people hear alike, so the best to one person isnt nessicarily the best to another.

I haven't tried or listened to all subs on the market smarta$$, but there is a subwoofer SOMEWHERE that is the best. As a matter of fact, ALOT of the people I use to compete with, and would see in the EXTREME classes, would buy the most affordable sub for their application, or they were SPONSORED.

What about some Memphis Mojos. Those can win some comps.

there still isn't a best. ...i don't see what being sponsered or buying an affordable sub has to do with anything.

If you haven't tried or listened to all the subs on the market, how do you know there is a best? Wait, you don't. There is no best. Why would there have to be a subwoofer that is the best?

It's like anything else. There is no best car, no best house, no best anything.

And like wysiwyg said, what does competing or being sponsored have to with anything? What's with the CAPS?

I wasn't trying to be a smarta$$ with my comment. Mearly asking a question that you seemed to know the answer to.
