I got me a Valentine One that I've "hid" within a CD sleeve that's attached to the passenger side visor. The power line is invisible as it runs through the visor, along the headliner to the fuse box. I've also got a remote display that sits on top of the steering column, in front of the dash. The only evidence of the detector is the remote display, which is only held on by velcro and easily removed if those pesky cops decide to pull me over.

This is how I have mine mounted. Instead of running it straight into the fuse box, I installed an on/off switch beside the trunk popper. This way I can turn it on/off without having to reach up and turn the little switch on the unit.

I installed mine so I know when the is a cop in the area. I tend not to speed. But 99% of people slam on their brakes when they see a cop, whether they are speeding or not. The radar detector allows me to create some additional space between myself and the brake stomper in front of me.

I've never understood why people keep their switches down there . . . If a cop pulls you over and you reach down to hit that switch, they'll see it and either assume you're getting a weapon, or hiding something . . .

Why the heck would you reach down there to hit a switch anyway? Radar detectors are completely legal in most states including where I'm at. I've been stopped before with it and they never say anything at all. And if I HAD to flip one of those switches you have got plenty of time to do it as you're getting stopped. It's really of no worry to me.
