i know there is a tutorial on how to remove the dash for a cavalier, is it similar or the same for the sunfire?

Sorta. Open glove box, remove two screws and remove radio bezel. While you're there, there's 2 or 3 in the glove box that need removed, then one on each side panel. Carefully remove the plastic dash up top, and you'll see some more screws. One screw holds the defroster, and there's 2 in there. That should be all of them.

wow thats sounds a lot simpler than the 00 + dashes... i got them down to 45 min down to the skeliton... and i have to pull out the radio, hvac, steering wheel, upper and lower steering column cover, passenger airbag, cluster, etc...

^ I believe Lanman was referring to removing the dash pad, not the entire dash.

Yeah, that's just for the pad. Dash itself should be similar since they bolt up just about the same.
