no its not. I modify my TA and its already great. at least i consider a 13.2 at 109 stock great. Modifying a car is the process of wasting money that u MORE THEN LIKELY, will never see again if u get rid of the car. congrats, after all ur mods u are still losing to a stock 2.4. sorry man, just can't get into the ln2. Thats why its left to u =)

Ok so you have a 13.2 second TA... and your point is? Ok, Pontiac built you a 13.2 second car, but what did YOU do? nothing, outside of drive it. So am I supposed to be impressed that you can drive your car to do about what it SHOULD do in the quarter? You spent how much on that car? By the time pj's done with the turbo setup, he'll probably be almost as fast as your TA and still have spent less money. And then he can say he took the "crappiest" 3rd gen engine and made it run 3 seconds faster than stock. Meanwhile, you'll have spent more money to still be stock.

I'm not knocking on you for loving your TA or for owning one, they're great cars but you people have got to stop thinking that V8's are the be-all and end-all. Some of us happen to like a challenge. Personally, i'd rather spend hours of research and work on my car to make it fast for cheap than spend a buttload of money for a car thats fast to begin with. My car ran 15.8 stock... i'm now at 14.6 on stock tires and suspension and I've spent less than $800 in mods.

The head work may seem like a waste of money, but its still a full second improvement since stock with just head work (mind you, only a port job at this point since he's running stock cam and rockers... i've seen plenty of ecos that didn't get that kind of time drop unless they had a ported head AND cams). Beyond that, imagine what kind of flow increase will be seen with a properly tuned turbo setup.

The 2200 is only a "money pit" engine to those that throw money away on useless crap instead of focusing on the most important areas. Yeah the head might have cost a lot but its the biggest restriction on that engine, and the whole turbo kit will probably end up costing less than the head work since he's piecing it together from scratch.

Damn i always end up ranting in these posts... My point, if you personally don't agree with the path he's chosen himself, why do you care enough to try and post about how stupid it is? Just leave him to his own devices and wish him luck with it. Personally I think the 2200 isn't given enough credit, because many people never see it worked to its potential. Performance parts for it tend to be cheaper, and it may not be strong enough to go toe to toe with an eco for MAX horspower, but it can survive enough power for a pretty wicked fwd street car. and that's my rant...

as a proud owner of a 2002 2200 five speed!!!!.........................i say RANT ON BROTHA!!!!
you are correct in everything you say, no one ever gives the 2200 any credit whatsoever, the 2200 is just a capable street motor as any 2.4 or eco!!!! when i was in az i ran a 15.5 @ i dont remember, and i dont have the timeslip!!!! i dont care if anyone beleves me, but i did, it was with nitrous, but anywho good job with your time man that is awesome, i cant wait till it warms up here in MI i cant fricken wait

^^^^ It's believable. I had a buddy who ran consistent 15.5's in his 97 5 speed 2.2.

Are u comparing a 13 second trans am to a 13 second cavalier? Let me tell u, the quality of a cavalier is by far @!#$tier. Let me know how ur leather interior and premium sound system in the cavvy us .

Check my registry, i have done a lil. still paying it off actually. But it can hit a mid 12, shut up man, all i meant by it was his definition of modifying a car was complete @!#$. And no, a 2.2 with a turbo kit unless forged with internals will not be trappin 109-110 sorry man. If it was a 2.4 say like speedracerz i might have a scare.

You need to check ur @!#$ out before u post cuz my trans am is def not stock. Big mouth driving the beetle.

<stomps feet>
OH YEA WELL MY CAR HAS LEATHER SEATS AND PREMIUM AUDIO!

<smashes head on desk> dude, S T F U

and last I checked a 13 second cavalier is a @!#$ load cooler than a 13 second t/a because that isn't performance you buy from the factory, thats something you have to work for.

You sports car guys just dont have a respect for performance because you don't have to do anything to get it.

If you want to take the path of least resistence, fine by me. I chose something a little more difficult... not because I didn't want to modify a V8 or a twin cam, but because this is what I have and it'll be pretty cool to make it as fast as a lot of cars that should be faster than me.

So spare me your bs.. go play with your little F body and your nova... continue "wasting money you'll never see again" because if thats what modifying is to you, you might as well sell all your cars and buy a geo.

wow ur an idiot! have u checked my cavalier? lol!!! a whole hell of a lot more work then ur car. So no respect? I have plenty, just not for ur pointless mods. And no, a 13 second cavalier IN MY BOOK is not cooler then a 13 second trans am. SORRY.

Why don't we do this, since we live so close and have such different opinions about the 2.2 and 2.4 we can do a run off at any track u pick? Atco, raceway park? Hell even maple grove! ur twin cam eater vs my non modded cavalier? deal? I have actually seen ur car run at the track 2. Raceway park on a saturday i do believe. U where the only cavalier there and got wasted by a red blazer 4x4. I got it on video somewhere. ran a 16.5 i think, was awhile ago.

Actually modding my nova made the value go up thanks.

Oh BTW, i actually am considering doing a geo metro LSI.

yea, I have checked your registry... kinda weird since your cavalier magically turned into turbo charged from an hour ago to now

I'm done arguing with you dude... you don't understand why I'm modding the LN2, and I dont understand why you're such a prick about it. I was expecting respect, not $#!+... majority of posters are happy with the results... but I guess you can't make everyone happy. Theres always that one person that tries to drag you down

I usually race at atco, just so you know where to find me.

Every motor ever made by any automobile manufacturer sucks. That pretty much covers it all. LOL.

Man bickering over the love of automobiles! .......anyone who can modify a car respectively with good taste gets points in my book no matter if it's a geo, cavy, vette, or SLR. Modifying to where it's different than the next guys in some way shape or form is what I'm about! True it may be a bottom less pit to throw your money into but who gives a flyin damn? ONE LIFE lets live it:/

PJ why waste your time on someone who can't understand multiple views on a situation and logically answer it?

By the way nice run man. I love what you're doing with the platform you have!

By the way PJ did you bounce of the limiter in 1st to 2nd change?(might've got a better time if you didn't) And why did it sound like you got a little bit better boost of power getting into 3rd? (exhaust note changes dramatically)

na no limiter

<analyzes video>

no limiter... 1st gear is a joke for traction tho... I need some better tires

the car really has top end shine now... the bottom torque is relatively the same, but the power really comes on around 3700-4000

its a short burst of yank, but its worth it

modifying a car is about taking something that isn't great, and making it great. My car didn't come with an eco or 2.4, and motor swaps are for quitters. So the LN2 is the poison of my choice.

motor swaps are for people with brains that work properly --- why would you spend the same amount of money or more to be slower with less potential

OK I admit I myself am a quitter i at one time was modifying an LN2 but when I was getting smoked by a contour on a daily basis with twice the mods under my hood I said f dis sh!t

YOU HAVE MY RESPECT FOR HAVING THE 2ND FASTEST N/A 2.2 ON THE ORG BUT YOU STILL WOULD GET SMOKED BY 99.99999999998% OF THE STOCK ECO AND 2.4 OWNERS ON HERE

I saw a turbo mani so that will be cool and all I would just consider using your brain and doing a swap

Down with the sickness
