on the doors i wouldnt advise it on a street car without a cage, but i cut out the side impact crush bar which by itself is 8lbs then i did some hole sawing in some double layered parts. still going to do a little bit more see if i can shave off another 1lb.

ok... now im getting ready to do the same thing... did you just cut the ends of the bar thats attached on the INSIDE or actually cut the hole works from the outside and pull the whole bar through that way?
and only 8 pounds?! bollocks, i would have though more like 25 each. my doors are heavy as HELL and have nothing to them!

Could you put up pics of what you did with the doors?
I'll post pics tonight but I cut the beam out with everything still in the door had to cut it into three pieces to get it out. Before I started I weighted the door and it was 67lbs which was with everything but the door panel speaker and mirror.

How complete of an interior are you going for?
Could always make Swiss cheese out of the inner door skin.
Did you not see the top of it LOL?

Bah. I meant allllllllll of it. A whole brick of Swiss cheese not just a slice.
When you get a chance send me the specs or work order info for your rims. Looks like I'm going to have to go the slicks route BFG DR's helped but not much.

hmmm interesting.... i could have sworn my doors have an actual BAR in them. i could be wrong, ill check. maybe thats a 95-99 / 00-05 difference perhaps?

a J-lab right there!
loving it man! more updates!!
Wow man, so smooth. GREAT job on that bay.
ok i'm confused.
is this car for show or strip?
just because its a race car doesnt mean it has to look like crap.
brandon - where are you running your shift cables and throttle cable through? i see an extra hole that looks like a larger clutch cylinder hole but that one is there where it is stock as well lol so whats that for?
looks great man.

Looks great!
Are you going to paint underneath the car? Like put it on a rotisserie.
Zyaa I know and the cables come threw the hole just below the tape line in the middle. Right in the middle of that extra piece of metal u see at the bottom.
I want to know where the wiring harness is coming threw since that hole is shaved??
i must be blind, i see no such hole.

I know its sunday brad
Bay looks awesome Brandon, I love poly primer. Just used it on a rockcrawler wrangler last week too
my question is are you wire tucking and relocating everything possible? or just wanted to have a smooth painted bay?

this is a nice race/street car, there are just some things done a certian way just because i want it done like that. as for holes that where shaved from the bay, hood release cable will now routed threw the driver frame rail, the throttle cable will be routed somewhere threw the lower pass. side, wiring harness will come out of the lower frame rail like the last car. but the shifter hole is still there like said its under the tape line. lol jake no way its getting black undercoating . and wire tuck is a must, fuse box, ecu, and other electronic will be in the car.

bolded the most awesomeness stuff
Sick engine bay, love the build. Would of loved to see tubbed wheel wells for a even cleaner look.
