1993 Chevrolet Cavalier

About This Vehicle:

All the listed mods, combined with constant failure of major components (costing 3x the purchase price and rising), is the reason why I refer to it as the Crapalier.

Body Style: Wagon
Color: AT&T White
Engine: 2.2L OHV
Transmission: Automatic
Interior: Dark Blue
Purchase Date: 2009
Purchased From: a redneck using it as a farm truck

MODIFICATIONS

Engine:
  • Labeled Wiring Harness (to make under-hood electrical issues easier to diagnose without getting under the car or looking up diagrams)
Interior:
  • Blue Spotlight Dash Lighting (because gauge lights failed and cannot be repaired)
  • Dash-Mounted Cruise Control Stick (makes accessing failure prone ignition components easier)
  • Access Hole for Trunk Button (so I don't have to open the broken glove box to open the hatch)
  • Permanently-On Trunk Open Relay (because GM was stupid and put a relay there [behind dash console] in the first place)
  • Chopped Driver-Side Dash Support (to cut dash removal time in half and enabling faster diagnosis of major electrical issues)
  • Removed Third Brake Light (because it constantly fails)
Miscellaneous:
  • Key & Push-Button Ignition (to get by when starter fails every 3 weeks)
  • Torque Converter Clutch On/Off Switch with TCC Indicator Light(to enable starting after TCC lock up)
Future:
  • I plan to eventually put a aftermarket ignition system in it to avoid another year of downtime. (Need the money to buy it first.)
