2000 Volkswagen New Beetle GLXAbout This Vehicle: Alright, if you're reading this, by now you want to know why I'd buy a Beetle. The truth is, my Tracker was dying, and I was tired of dumping money into it. This car was owned by a parts dept. employee at the dealer I worked at, and I had already done most of the maintenance on it myself, so I knew it was well taken care of. It was his wife's car, so I knew it wasn't beaten on. Its turbo, 5 spd, heated leather seats, a/c, heated mirrors, basically fully loaded with 24K miles. I got the car for $10,200 final price, payments of $230 a month, the insurance is cheap ($130 a month for comprehensive), and the same car with 54K miles on it goes for up to $4K more. I could put thirty thousand miles on this car and sell it for a profit if i can keep it in good shape.
To be honest, at first i was skeptical of owning a Beetle, but its an awesome car. 15.69 almost completely stock, and thats not even really beating on it. I think its funny that this thing has such a stigma as a girl car, but every time i see another Beetle on the road its driven by some grizzled, 40 year old+, biker lookin dude. GT28R coming soon :)
Laugh all you want, but unless you've got a better slip you better keep it to yourself. After all, what's more embarassing than getting beat by a Beetle? Body Style: Hatchback
