About Me: | I'm almost 50 and have had a variety of cars, mostly new, none of them very spectacular, although I did briefly have a Jag which, whenever I was driving into a sunset, made me feel like I had a big moustache and was flying a Spitfire home after a raid over occupied Vermont. I was driving a Hyundai in the snow just after Christmas and I wrecked it...slid off a straight road at 25 mph if you can imagine the embarrassment. Anyway, I got all the car mags for local stuff and found a nice 2003 gold sunfire with 51000 on it and about 3 grand below Blue Book. Unfortunately I drive 150 miles a day round trip to and from work, so I suppose the bank and the junkyard are in a race to see who gets it first. I would like this to be my last car as we are on a pace to retire when I'm 55 and we have been buying a piece of land in Fiji to retire to, so I need to be proactive keeping this rather nice car together. I probably get about 30 mpg out of it, which is really not bad; it's just bad when gas is so expensive and you pay 60 bucks a week just to get to work. So you baby the car at 55 and only occasionally allow yourself a few screamin' miles on the freeway. I realize complaining about 30 mpg from a pretty sporty car makes me a something in your eyes. Not sure what, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. |
Hobbies/Interests: | Live saund mixing, being the worlds worst guitar player, watching my kid's band play to 15 people, reading WWII war histories, opera, Watching my New England Patriots just decimate everything and everybody and now..... tantadadaaaaaaaaaaaaaa working on used cars: my 2003 Sunfire and my son's 1989 Mustang 2.3. |
What's New: | My birthday november 2nd I got sick of the stock CD player in the Sunfire chewing the hell out of my cds that I bought a 20-GB mp3 player and hooked it direct to my power amps. I'd like to put it through a head, because the volume on the "mixtapes" is all over the place and I need more control. But, I dunno how to get the stock head out, and it's usually a pain in the arse to dig the dashboard open and the new ones never fit the holes. |
