I don't want to stir up anything but I just happend to be cruising the forums and as I came in here I realized that I don't remember seeing a JOTM for February...
So is it official that there is no more JOTM? I'm just curious, I'm not trying to stir up some big argument or anything. If there isn't anymore, that's fine with me, I just wanted to know.

JOTM was a joke. i dont miss it. it was more like "MPPOTM"... most popular person of the month... it had little to do with cars. I think removing JOTM was a good choice, right along with ditching the verses forum.

you're definitely right, it was a popularity contest.
i dont know, i mean, dave and the mods go around, being mod like in all these forums, why not have THEM decide who deserves it, and maybe not do J of the month, but rather member of the month, and maybe that would change how many "dicks" there are around here, because dicks are going to be a good addition to the site, so they would never get the award!

i think the original ride of the month was done by the mods, and it didnt work out either. so im not sure that would work. people will still complain about the mods choice of cars.

Nope not weird at all, it doesn't really matter all that much, some people feel that they are lacking if they don't win it.
My car wouldn't win any competitions except a regional autocross, much like yours would win in drag racing. Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks.

agreed. granted, it's fun seeing someone get recognition for a little while, and all the people who get nominations are though highly of, but there's just way too much drama behind it.
it was fun for a while, but like most fun things, it just got old and trashed.

Nice idea, but people already challenge us as lacking impartiality, I can only imagine the fiasco if they got their panties in a bunch over what should be nothing more that a little side contest...
