Adding an Electrical Forum?

Necessary?

Last night I had a basic electrical question about a neighbor's car...

It was not really about the fact that it was a non-J, so it really did not belong in Other Cars...

Not really a Performance question...

Not Maintenance...

and not Audio and Electronics

I did not know where to put it, so I put it in Performance because a lot of engine questions get asked in there, it got moved to Other Cars, where it really does not fit.

Anyway, I see a lot of electrical questions get put in Interior, too. Maybe an Electrical and Wiring Forum? Just a thought.

Quote:

Performance Forum:

Discussions about performance modifications to j-body automobiles which do not involve any kind of forced induction or nitrous. Topics in any way related to turbo or supercharger should go in the Boost forum, and nitrous topics in the Nitrous Oxide forum.

Anything dealing with other cars, as yours was not a J body, belongs in, you guessed it, other cars. If it was a J-Body, it would have belonged in Maintenance, since the question pertains to the upkeep and diagnosis of a problem, not an upgrade.

Maintenance Forum

Discussion about general maintenance, maintenance issues, and other normal and not-so-normal j-body issues.

Key being general maintenance, thats exactly where the post belonged, if it deals with a J-body, which it did not.

A forum for Diagnostics, PCM tuning, and troubleshooting car electronics besides kid's toys like stero systems would be cool!

PCM Tuning = Tuning forum
Troubleshooting Car Electronics & Diagnostics = Maintenance

so wait... electronics questions don't belong in the audio and electronics forum?

or if it deals with a car that isn't a j-body it doesn't belong in other cars?

or... if you have a question about a non-j-body (other car) car's electronic system, don't you think it might be a good idea to ask said question on a forum specific to that vehicle?
