Come winter time or early spring I want to get rid of my 01 cav it's a base model with a 2200 auto and rear defrost and power sunroof and cd only options. I want to jump into another cav with more power and with a 5spd I'll list above what I want to look into. I want to go faster so I was thinkin about a base since less options is less weight. but give me your input.

what you want is an 02 sunfire base model with the upgraded engine and 5 speed. (02 had the eco as an option). problem solved.
I may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
That would be do able if I could find a 02 fire with the eco 5spd

just get an ls sport if you really want another cav cuz itll have some amneties and look good out of the box
go 03+ LS Sport....you wont regret it....but good luck finding it 5speed

I did find a base 5spd white eco cav that I fell in love with but cannot do it at the current time

I was in your spot ... I sold my cav in less than 12 hrs on mautofied, and am going to pick up an LSJ in 2 weeks
think is I still owe 6,000 on it. so I figure that I would just trade it off.

I was in that same situation... I was pressured into buying my 4 door auto 2200. I couldn't get a Z or anything with Ls or sport on the car or my insurance would have been worse than what It was. So i have a base model car, but i think i made out just fine in the end.
it annoys me it's slow boring. I have no interior lights. I replaced the door switch and they still flashed on and off. I just pulled the lights out of it. I really want a 5 spd and ECO or 2.4 twin cam. I'm tired of being the boring car of the group lol.

I say.....get ZERO options (gm options only give you head aches down the road) ensure you get an ecotec with a 5-speed.
