hey guys i was wondering if anyone has ever put a unibody car..namely a j...on a frame. my plan is if at all possible to put a cavalier 2 dr on a mitsubishi montero frame and use the mitsu power train w the cavy body and interior,,,,i want somethin a lil bit different and well ya know its gotta have the intimidation factor too....

Anything is possible with enough ingenuity and money. A guy where I used to live on Staten Island put an old el Camino on a Chevy truck chassis with 44" and a big block. BTW, the body of the entire car was made of diamond plate. Talk about mad max. Get some bar napkins and a tape measure and start doodling.
Might have better luck with a Saturn Vue

arent the WRX and the saturn Vue Unibody as well, if so thats not going to help. the mitsu idea would be really good, problem is your going to have a HUGE wheel gap just from dropping the unibody cav on a AWD frame. maybe look at a mini truck platform that has a bit of a aftermarket for lowering and drops. something like a ranger or a s10 would work really well, plus they have some big bad v6's available for those things, and can always be swapped out to fit a small block V8 in them too.

hey guys i guess i forgot to mention the object is to have a really big beefy lookin car but i dont have the time to build a frame but i have the montero available and the car is a junker ne way. the montero is 4 wheel drive w 214 thousand miles but the motor only has around 160 thousand on it. i work at a local body shop and me and the other guy that works there (future owner) are more than capable of doing this
