The Phoenix Project....has been cancelled.
Monday, May 07, 2007 12:34 PM
Well Ladies and Gents,

Some of you may or may not know me but I've been around since the j-body.org began... somewhere around 1998 or 1999. I used to have a White 1998 Cavalier Z24 supercharged, which is all thanks to Team Green from wisconsin for their help with my supercharger install. Back in 2005, I sold my white cav because of a lot of personal reasons and then after a while I was missing the modding fun on the cav so I went out and bought a new one in 2006 with no regrets from selling my white one. Thats when My phoenix project began. Unfortunately I had no time to work on it and i barely touched my cav for almost nearly a year because I got a new job and i moved and many many more. Along down the road, I made a new friend and he had a firebird which he is planning to convert it into a Knight Rider, which is my favorite show (why you think my name is HANZENRIDER?) After spending time with him and riding in his fire and seeing that little kid inside me growing out again and remembering that it was my life-long dream to own a Trans-Am and I knew it deep down in my heart that I already had said goodbye to my White cav. I didnt have the same strong connection with my red cav like I had with my white cav. So I decided to say goodbye again...only this time... its for good because it was time for me to go after my dream and I went out and got my very first trans-am. I'll post pictures soon but it wont be a conversion to Knight Rider car. Im just planning to restore it a little bit. Now, I know these cars are famous for transmission problems which Im already prepared to fix when it decides to take a crap on me. So I wanted to update you all in case any of you wondered what has been going on with the Phoenix project and well, now you know.

To those who knows me,
Its been fun and thanks for all the good memories....

For everyone, I have a lot of parts that Im putting up for sale soon so keep an eye on the classified section.

Take care,

Welcome to the dark side.

Pics ASAP. And, I have never heard of transmission problems with these cars... the 700r4 holds up pretty well in them I think. Mine is original to the car, has about 140,000 or so on it, has a shift kit and doesn't slip or anyhting.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys (basically F-body guys) But i could swear the GTA's came with vents on the fenders and 2 louvered vents on the hood. I also thought all GTA's came standard with T-tops....it was what seperated them from regular T/A's where it was only an option.

Good find Jason...super clean.

brian you want the AMC AMX ? or the challenger next to it ?

jasons GTA has the factory digital dash , the GTA option was basicly the same as the IROC from the Z28 , also those wheels are standard on the GTA

I'm sure this will get shot down, but I think there were differences between the GTA and IROC-Z packages. To my knowledge, all GTAs had the 5.7L TPI, while an IROC-Z could have been had with either the 5.0L or the 5.7L. I thought GTAs were "loaded", while the IROCs were "base+options".

yeah his is a 5.7

the IROC's might have had a few years with less options , but for the most part were loaded , yes they had 5.0 and 5.7 , so did the Z28's

GTA's like the IROC's , came standard with the 16" wheels , t/a's and Z28's 16" were optional

THANKS GUYS FOR THE COMMENTS...

Brian (aka speedracerz)...shut up.

As for my GTA, the previous owner changed it around a bit and I think he was a Knight Rider fan as well. The Hood and the spoiler was changed im sure but the rest is how it came factory off the production line. My GTA is fully loaded. The paint job was worth about 5k. My eyes nearly rolled off. The interior needs some work done... mostly the dash and center console. Everything else is nearly in perfect condition. The leather inside is in perfect condition. No tear and hardly any wear. Previous owner did a good job keeping it in good shape or he re-upholestry it.

Again, thanks guys for the comments... keep em coming

So GTA's didn't come with standard T-tops...I thougt they did. I thought that hood looked wrong for the car. And i like Jasons style GTA wing more than the newer style ones like the one 97trd posted

That sucks to hear, Jason. Was looking forward to it but I have to admit, the new car is a tad bit nicer.

Again, thanks for the comments and support. The T/A is a fun car to drive. I have no crazy mods coming for it except to restore it and light performance mods towards to the intake and exhaust so the motor can breathe more and free up all that robbed HP due to restrictive products.
