I've been thinking..(Yes, it's a dangerous thing)
Anyways, I'm in debate what I should do here......
I've been wanting to do something with my Cav as soon as it was paid off....I just wasn't sure what....
With a little bundle of joy on the way, it is going to change the plans a little....But I'm pretty sure I want to keep this thing...
So, if you had a paid off 2004 Cav w /12k......would you:
A) Auto X it.
B) custom this bad boy up.....
I can't decide which..I kinda would both if I could.....
It's been a while since this old timer has had a car he could toy with....lol...
lower it, kit it, and make a cruiser out of it.
if that isnt your thing, then get a s/c for it and have some fun
coming back in 2008...
Auto X it, you'll have a lot more fun actually driving your car then being worried about cracking your body kit.
but then again who says you need a kit, just mod it lightly and tastefully, rims, lower, and exhaust and debadge it. less is more. make it clean
C) Drive it stock, you have more important things to do.

^^^MEH^^^ Don't listen to him, he drives a Jeep.......lol
Yes, it's my REAL car. No, it is NOT photoshopped or "this is how my car will look someday". It's the REAL DEAL.

True, but this will happen after the little guy comes along...

ooo...I almost forgot about those....
Put about 2K into it and call it a fun toy. Looking through the RKSport web site (as a guide, since they make pretty good stuff for the J, and they have a decent variety), I'd go with:
Ecotec intake kit
crank pulley && belt
Steel braided brake lines
Front control arm bushings
Eibach Sportline kit
Upper and lower engine mount
Maybe the anti-sway kit
High flow cat
4:2:1 header
Dual exhaust
I think that would make a fun little car. If you want real power, you can go with the S/C kit or the hahn kit (both would go well with everything mentioned above), but I tend to think on a budget, since I'm so broke. Also, doesn't B&M make something for automatics to make it shift differently (shiftplus, I think)?

Some good ideas....we'll see.
I don' t plan to go crazy....the budget will be quite small (until I get a better job-working on now.)
Just a side project I can drive.....
The Rat and StrippedCav have the right idea, kid takes priority to car. There really is no "after the kid", you'd be surprised how little allowance money you'll have after paying for all the odds and ends. Paying for the kid should end sometime after college..
But if you must...I'd say suspension, engine then Auto-X it. Nothing else. Or get a bike and do the equivalent (track days)
