I have a 2004 Sunfire. I have a clunking or creaking in the steering column when turning the wheel back and fourth. Could it be the intermediate shaft? Has anyone replaced this themselves? How hard was it? I know there is a TSB on it. I also found a recall on it. I am not sure if my vehicle is covered in the recall I have a call into the dealer. Recall # 08E063000 Anyone had it replaced under the recall?

i get a creeking sounds. i was told its the rubber boot around the lower shaft just squeeking on the metal. i was also told wd 40 would fix it. but i havent tried. i just ignore it.
