1000 mile trip.....36.8mpg
Monday, April 20, 2009 7:26 AM
I just made a 1000 mile round trip and the Crapalier did great! The best I got was 36.8 mpg and that was doing 75-80 with the A/C running. I realize calculating your mileage isn't perfectly accurate, but since I normally get around 30-32 in town and filling at the same pump, I was pretty happy. I also crossed 155,000 on this trip. I hope I get another 50,000 dependable miles from it!!!!!

Hmmm. You get good milage, the car has been reliable, the AC still works at 155,00K...and you named it the "Crapalier". Don't want to know what you'd have named it if you really hated it.

ZOMG!!! He said it's a crapalier, what is he thinking? Doesn't he know that Cavalier are the best cars that were ever produced, and if he can't have more respect for a Cavalier maybe he better find another website to post on because this one is reserved for people who can openly show their undying love for the J platform. /sarcasm

I am always surprisded at how many idiots can't actually figure out their correct gas mileage then post on a forum about what great gas mileage they got. Your car did not get 36.8mpg!!

And yes it always is perfectly accurate as long as you know how to do it.

Expain "the proper way"......I've always written down the milage on the odo when I fill up, drive till I'm at roughly1/8th a tank and write down the mileage again when I pull into the pump. Subtract the difference then divide by gallons put into the tank untill the auto shut off...granted it might be slightly different time to time my results are dam close on every fill up......and if the car has a trip odo I'll use that , but my caprice never had a trip though....

well, it used to get good gas milage. ever since the i had spark issues on cyl 4, missfireing, and then that made the O2's go bad.
durring this problem i was getting between 10-12 depending how i drived. when i fixed that its been at 14-16. and i dont know why! ...before i put the intake, ehaust, irriduim plugs, and 8mm wires, it was getting about 18-19ish all the way up to 22 mpg in the city....but i highly douibt its because of thoe little mods. but who knows what it is now! i really wish i knew! .....wanna trade cars?? ...mine dont smell like pizza! hahhaa jk
