well friends car is a 97 2.2, when they hit the gas it sits and revs up, now the car starts moving but very slow and sluggish then it jolts and its off, sounds like the trans is slippin for then nething? but isnt this uncommon, oh and its and auto, any ideas, does the whole trans have to be fixed if the 1st gear is slipping, this mean the teeth on the gear are worn down?

haha i was jsut going to say that your friend doesn't know how to drive but then i noticed it was an auto. I had a problem like this in a friends car. Just changed tranny fluids and it was fine. He was quite though i might add so just check that out first(remember, with the car warm and running)

Add tranny fluid. I'm not sure how you check the level on ur year car. I tried searching for you but i couldn't find anything. If you search longer than i did, you'll find how to check it.
It's an easy fix though.

well 2.2s have a dip stick unlike my Z with the stupid eye, but yeah ill let him know to check his fluid and see where hes at, prob have to drop the pan
