Raise the car in the rear,
Loosen:
One (1) 10mm bolt for Evap Canister,
16mm wrench and 21 mm wrench for the fuel filter,
One (1) 8mm (or a flat head) for the hose,
One (1) 10mm for the fuel filler neck holder (optional),
Two (2) 13mm bolts for the hangers,
Drop tank,
Unplug electrical harness,
Twist Camlock,
Pull out pump.
Reverse process for install.
New pumps run about $250. Shouldn't take more than an hour or two...
Thanks, are there any graphics online that you know of?
Not that I know of. Honestly, when you get under the car, it will become very obvious to you.
One thing I failed to mention, make sure you pull your fuel pump fuse in the engine bay first, then turn the key to the "On" position. This should de-pressurize the fuel lines so you don't get fuel spraying all over the place/you.
Can one install an in-line pump instead?

We all drive in a yellow Cavalier...
I just did this. Make sure you have somebody with you especially if you still have half a tank of gas. It gets heavy quickly when you're holding it up by yourself and trying to make it fit right again. I used a jack with a piece of 2x4 on it to keep the tank held up in some parts.
I am about to do this on my sister's car. It looks like the heat shield has to be removed. Any ideas?

I'm having a problem getting my tank out on my 03 cavalier . Both bolts are out and it is stuck on the drivers side. I have the passenger side hanging down about a quarter of the way. What is keeping it from hanging up in there ?
after you take off teh straps only thing keeping it up is teh heat shield.....but i believe its on teh drivers side.....are teh straps completely removed?? you really half to "wiggle/force" it out kinda.....
