I recently bought my 01 Cavalier and have a question about the water temp. It is running at over 195 according to the guage. It is usually sits at the line just after 195. If I let it idle it will reach the 2 lines past 195 then the fan will kick on and bring the temp back down. Does anyone else have this issue?

We need to sticky one of these "My Cavalier runs 2 bars too hot" threads. It's normal. The fan does not turn on until it's 2 bars over 195. Blame Chevrolet.

Thanks guys that exactly what I hoped. My other vehices 07 Titan and 07 Odyssey run less that half the guage.
