has the ignition recall. five wires. three big eyelids and two small eyelids. anyone can post a photo of where all five wires go? I had three big eyelids on the big (top) post, and red and small black eyelid on S terminal. an o'reilly rebuilt starter and a junkyard starter failed within two weeks a piece. Just want to make sure I got everything wired right

the small black wire is grounded to the starter body. Take one of the LONG skinney bolts off the end of the starter, and put the black wire there.

I have the same car and I'm having problems figuring out the wiring after swapping out the starter assembly. A couple of the loops broke off when I was removing them from the posts and now I'm confused where the wires go. Here's a couple photos to show what I'm dealing with, but the problem is that I don't seem to be getting power to the ignition post on the solenoid. When I turn the ignition, nothing happens except the clock and fans turn off. I replaced the recall relay because it was rattling like something was broken inside. The way I have the wiring is as follows:

- 4 wires to top post on solenoid - Thick, red wire from the battery, fusible link to alternator, 2 red wires from relay
- 1 black wire from relay to small post on solenoid

I'm pretty sure about all the wires except the 2 red wires from the relay. Do both of them go on the top post or does one of them need to be grounded somewhere?

The 5 wires

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks

Nobody can help me with this?

IIRC there were to small loops prior to me breaking one, which would suggest there were two wires on the small post, but every thread I've seen on this issue says there is only one wire going to the small post.

With one red wire on the main post, using a test light I can see a current going to both the black and the other red wire from the relay. Grounding the red wire doesn't do anything, nor does putting it on the small post and grounding the black wire.

5 wires, 2 posts...I'm only really sure of two wires...the big red one and small red one for the alternator. The 3 from the relay are confusing the hell out of me. Maybe it's a simple fix, so I'm feeling really dumb right now that I can't figure this out!
