A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor???
Sunday, July 13, 2008 4:53 PM
can anyone tell me exactly what this sensor does? and how to diagnose a faulty one??????? here's the deal... i've been trouble shooting a weird a/c problem...... if you havn't seen my other thread it goes like this....

A/C works 100% as long as it's manually or automatically selected within the first two minutes the vehicle is turned on. However after 2 minutes I am unable to get the compressor to engage under any setting...( in the first 2 minutes I can get it to engage as many times as I want)

I have already replaced my IAT and that resulted in even cooler a/c.. however no fix...

After further inspection... I noticed that the wire harness that leads to the A/C refrigerant pressure sesnor and Engine coolant level switch had come loose and was rubbing against the serpentine belt... so I dug in and saw that one of the wires leading to the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor had been cut straight through.....

So i was wondering what type of symptoms a faulty or non-operational refrigerant pressure sensor could cause...
