I am just wondering what are some sure signs that my headgasket is blown? I am loosing coolant and I am not sure where it is going.... I did bleed the cooling system, but my coolant is disappearing somewhere! I checked the oil and it looks fine, not milky or anything. I have no coolant leaks in my lines, I do still have an occasional sputter when i start my engine on a hot engine. It only happens after the car has been started for 30 seconds or so, and clears up after i get on the gas... I can smell a "sweet" smell after start up from time to time. My coolant is leaking pretty slow, like I have to top off my overflow tank every 2 weeks. I just did a compression test, and from what I can tell, and what my haynes manual has to say, there is no obvious leaks. But my coolant has to be going somewhere. Is there any other ways i can tell if my headgasket is blown?
Thanks
98 z24, few upgrades, nitrous on the way!
Could be leaking out of your heater core.
