Heres thelow down I hit a piece of road debris about 4 days ago it really tore up my LS Sport well I noticed an exhaust leak right afterwards. So I take off as usual the day after to go to work I notice CEL blinking as soon as I hit 4500 RPM and the car falls on its face(I have a justa bout every bolt-on and a tune). Well I rfixed the exhaust leak today thinking it would get rid of the misfires and smooth out the powerband(gasket blew where the TSUDO header meets the flex pipe).

Well I was wrong it smoothed the powerband but it didn't pull like it used to, not to mention if I laid into it by the time I was at the top of 4th at about 5000rpm the misfire code pops right back up. Now I'm puzzled. I'm changing the oil tomorrow as well as the plugs just in case they got whited out with me driving it to work the other day.

Hers the confusing part I searched the JBO and found a post with the same issue Vincent mentioned something about the IDI cover I talked to another friend who said he had the same problem and swapped his IDI cover and it stopped any ideas would be a huge help. The car has a brand new ICM that I put in and the previous owner said he changed the coils and the IDI cover about a year ago.

he could have put a used IDI cover on it. ive seen it done many times.

I have the paperwork showing he purchased them new when he worked at an Orielly's.

From what it seems it all points to the IDI cover any other help would be greatly appreciated.

Well today I took a 100 mile trek back to my home and the check engine light came on and stayed on(5th gear about 2500RPMs so not pushing it) I stopped at an Autozone off the freeway and got it scanned. Misfires across all cyclinders. Any ideas its my only mode of transportation.

Never mind I found the problem the ringlands in three cyclinders are gone.
