I read in the FAQ that the "Loose Lumber sound" in my trunk is my strut mounts. It als says there is a TSB and the dealer will replace under warranty.
If there is no warranty on my car (149,000 miles and 13 years old) will there be a charge then? and assumingly so, can someone tell me what i would expect to pay for this repair? the sound is getting really bad. I would do it myself, but i wonder how much the parts are?

At your age and mileage GM isnt going to give you a dime to help with the cost of the repair, they might have on a 4 year old 50K mile car but not 13 years and 150K.
Go to a parts store to get a quote. Personally I havent had to replace any of mine.
Firestone charged me $160 total to replace my rear strut mounts. It was roughly $30 per mount for parts and $100 in labor. Well worth the money considering it is about a 2-3 hour job for an inexperienced mechanic...namely me. I replaced the front mounts and had enough with it and took it to the shop to get the rear done. I had better things to do with my day than curse at my car any longer.
LOL they arent that hard to replace. I didnt think GM would give me anything more than a funny look when asked to do it for free. But hey, its worth a shot.
I can fix myself with $60 in parts, $20 in jack and coke, and about 2 hrs in my garage. Not worried about it.
