where is the rear defrost ground

Hey guys,

I'm having trouble with the rear defroster ('03 Cav). The light by the button turns on, fuse is good, but no power at the grid. I searched and someone mentions that there is a ground for it. Does anyone know exactly where it is?

Believe it or not, the ground for that is located on the inside edge of the RH sill/rocker just outboard of the front passenger seat. It's also the same ground for power door lock switches and partial radio. I guess if it was bad, you'd also have some other issues. Check the tabs that are soldered onto the rear window to see if they are loose or broken off. Also, using a 12 volt test light, if you CAREFULLY probe the grid lines from left to right, you should have a brite bulb on the LH side and it will gradulelly get dimmer as you go to the RH side.
