hey. My girlfriend just bought a 99 tiburon. She's having a little trouble with it I'm not sure what's wrong. The check engine light is on. here's the problem when she starts it up in the morning and pulls away if you step on the gas hard at all the car will cut out and stall if you don't let off the gas. once the car reaches operating temp it runs great. expection on the hills the car looses power and dies back. what could this be.. I was thinking of an oxygen sensor? would that cause this type of problem

Sorry to say wrong forum Before u get flamed, I will good advice, First youre gonna have to get check engine code scanned, Then you will be able to fix the problem.

Yeah, your gonna have to get the code scanned first, then depending on what kind of code it's throwing probably go ahead and replace the oxygen sensor. If i remember right those cars have the 2.0 don't they.

willem, excuse me all to hell for not being a genius like you, i merely glanced at the post didn't scan it. It's easy to miss things like what kind of engine etc,.

sounds to me like you just need to replace the 02 sensor.

replace your O2 sensor and if you have two of them better replace the other one while your at it when one goes out the second one witll go out shortly after. ..Question have you checked both O2 sensors to see if they are loose or a wire cut or anything??

hey. I have this problem only when the car is cold when i really step on the gas the car just bogs out, but if i let off the gas slow the car will pick the speed off. I was wonderin if a o2 sensor would do this. and also i tryed to unplug the sensor and no difference. would i see any difference if the sensor was bad? thanks
yeah the o2 sensor can do some crazy ass @!#$ with your car. Didn't you already get your code checked and find out that there's a faulty 02 sensor?? And unplugging the O2 sensor wont change a damn thing if its bad. In fact if you keep running on a bad o2 sensor it might cause some damage.
