Hard Vibration - PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi Guys,

Just a thank you in advance for reviewing my issue and your comments/help.

I have an 05 Cavalier 2 Door, what happens is when I get up to 100 km/h and above, the car vibrates really hard, you feel it the most in the steering wheel, steering column and down to your feet where the peddles are, and almost like in the front end of the car.

Any speed below 100 is fine, you feel it consistantly at 110km/h and anything above.

I have had my drive side hub&bearing replaced twice a month ago, as there was a vibration on slower speeds before, but this just started the other day, and is much more harder and felt throughout alot more then when the hub&bearing issue came up.

I have no idea what it may be, I even put it in neutral and park and reved it up and no vibration at all.

Any ideas or suggestions before I take it in anywhere??

PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!

sounds like you may have an alignment issue or your wheels may be off balance

Maybe a faulty tire with a bad belt?

Try rotating the front tires to the rear & rear to front and see if the vibes go away.

I just put on brand new tires about 2 months ago, no issues with them at all, they were blanced and installed and were fine, this just started yesterday but don't get where its coming from.

bent rim, broken belt in tire, off balance-- are all possibilities. if it just started out of nowhere I'd be willing to bet you may have lost a wheel weight or a belt broke in the tire. take it to a tire shop and have it checked out.

I see you're Canadian too - which means you probably had to deal with the winter storm last weekend.
Winter storms = snow stuck inside wheels = vibration. I'll bet that with the thaw today (depending on where you are) that the problem's gone. I had about 1/2 dozen people come to talk to me on Monday with the exact same complaint...
