How do you replace a Tail light socket?
Monday, January 26, 2009 9:00 AM
I have a 2002 cavalier ls sport. My right rear blinker and brake light do not function. I replaced the bulb and noticed the socket had a large amount of corrosion built up on it. Now even with a new bulb the blinker and tail lights only work half the time I try to use them. Is there a way to clean then out or should I buy a new one?
My other question is if I buy a new how do i replace the socket? Do I just cut the wires and solder then together or wrap it in electrical tape. Thank you for helping me out.

Cut and splice with heat shrink butt connectors.
