I think I killed the valves lol

My '99 Z24 is now finally giving me a puff of black smoke at startup in the mornings after 262,000+ km, I know I have to replace the rear valve cover gasket(yet again after installing the cams, but I'm not sure if would be the valves of oil seaping in the exhaust through the valve cover of not, the smoke doesn't stay( only for about 30 seconds in the morning), The Ld9 is not losing any oil (at least not more then its suppose to), I have no loss of power, no over-revving, no problems what-so-ever. I would like to fix this nice little problem, any ideas for the smoke? I can only come up with the idea of valves or oil out of the rear valve cover.....Anything at all would be nice lol

Black smoke is carbon not oil. If your engine was burning oil the smoke would be blue.

Is your car turned? Black smoke is common on a rich tune.

Ya but if it was rich wouldn't it be all the time that it would be black smoke? not just at startup?

Well on a cold start you use about 30-40% more fuel..

Shut it off when at operating temp and see if it does it when you start it then.
