I have to put a little fluid into my clutch resovior every few weeks and I shouldn't have to. I had a 2000 cavalier that did it and it turned out it was leaking into the trans through the slave cylinder and it wasn't good. I was wondering if its normal to lose a little bit over a few thousand miles or so. I got an 04 now and it just seems really unlikely that two slave cylinders would go on two cavaliers in a row. Please let me know if its normal to use a little fluid or if I gotta worry.
no, you should not loose fluid, although your slave is the most likely culprit, it could be something else too. I would have it checked.
It just seems so unlikely that it would happen on two cavs in a row. especially with only 50k miles on it. But im still lookin for a leak somewhere else because on my last car my pedal lost pressure alot and I would have to pump it. Now its just like its a small leak somehwere but I just can't seem to find one anywhere, but like I said im still looking.
How strange. Wouldn't surprise me though, Im having many issues my dad is having at or around the same millage. I have a 2000, and he an 03. My clutch doesn't leak, but is on its way out. I have 110k on the clock, and I learned on this car. I'm not sure if it is a factory clutch, but i plan on doing the slave at the same time.
Well I too would like to actually upgrade my clutch to a stage 3 but I don't got the cash now, otherwise I wouldn't mind a leak, I am just worried bout it leakin into my trans like it did on my last car.
