engine problems

my 1997 z-24 was doing ok until a couple of months when for some reason one of the coils just died and left me with 2 cilynders, after that a couple of weeks later i started to notice a strange sound coming of the engine at first i thought it was the gearbox but after checking a little i notice it was comming from the engine itself, anyways i had my timing chain kit replaced last month and i took the lifters they all had plenty of oil inside, i`ve made a video of this and i was wondering if any of you guys can give me some advise on what to do next.

Sounds to me you either got bent valves or youre rocker arms need adjustment or replaced. I am not sure if the 2.4 rocker arms are adjustable. Was this making this kind of noise before the before the timing chain was done?.

good luck keep us updated.

Rocker arms in a 2.4? I dont think so.
I had a lifter explode and ended up bending a valve, thats exactly what it sounded like to me when I got her back together. Compession test proved a bent valve. It very well could be a bad lifter though. Id sugest you do a compression test. If that checks out you may be looking at a bad lifter. Im sure someone els will be able to chime in and help you out some more.

the sound was exactly the same before replacing the timing chain, i got the cylinder head to a shop and had the valves seals replaced as well, all valves were ok and so were the lifters, the only thing that was in bad condition was the balance shaft sproket, and the plastic cover of the balance shaft chain.

Pd. excuse my english i havent practice in long long time
