sure, if you like paying for overpriced gimmick plugs that our compression chambers are not designed to work with.

Whats this "our" stuff. No matter how much you try to pretend, you still have a pink OHV.
I ran Bosch Platinum +2 in my old OHV and 2.8L Grand Prix and didnt have a problem, but i still wouldnt recommed them. My eco has never seen another plug besides ACDelco.

i wouldn't run ANYTHING but ACDelco for plugs.
Iridium plugs are a waste of money unless you are MAYBE b00sted... you don't need anything that hot on an N/A ecotec
IMHO you have two options... ACDelco Platinums, or ACDelco Rapid Fires
---
Bousch makes horrible plugs, and you'll noticeably tell a difference running them. Platinum +2 and Platinum +4 plugs do nothing more than spread the spark around thats not really conducive to combustion.
As for NGK... i ran them in my Integra... if you have a Japanese Import, NGK is the best plug to run... but not in a Chevrolet.
----
You have to run the right kind of plugs for the vehicle, or you take the risk or detonation and/or misfires and overall running like @!#$. Whether you get that right away or not, you are playing roulette with your motor.
GM = ACDelco
Ford = Motorcraft and Autolite
Chrysler = MOPAR and Champion
Japanese Imports = NGK
etc...
----------------
As for your fuel filter... run Delco or Purolator... and i agree stay away from FRAM
