Disable SIR system?

I am planning on changing my radiator on my 2001 Sunfire Gt and Alldata states I need to disable my SIR system. I've spoken to some mechanics and they said it's not necessary and I am wondering if anyone agrees or should I disable it? If so, how do I disable it?
