This one surprises me a bit. How come 5w-40?

Good stuff too...ran that before I switched to the Napa Syn.....
I just started running it. Hope it was a good choice and the turbo likes it. I was running just straight Quaker State before this and the mobil 5000 is only 50 cents more for 5 quarts.

It only comes in one viscosity (5W-40). I've used it in at least a dozen automotive engines (and several motorcycles with wet-clutches up until last year) with displacements from 1.6 to 7.4 liters and never measured any difference in fuel milage due to the higher viscosity. It's equal to any of the 5W-30's in cold weather and at least their equal in hot. Oil pressure always holds up, engines remain clean and I've never had a failure or problem. It's Shell's diesel rated oil with high levels of detergents and acid neutralizers. In oil comparison tests I've read through the years, it's done very well. I typically change it at 5k intervals with good filters (partly offsetting the increased cost over natural oil) which ususally coincides conveniently with April and October. Lastly, it's common in my area and usually available at Wal-Mart at a reasonable price compared to higher end synthetics. Of course, you method may vary, but I have no complaints.
Quakerstate "Q" 10W-30 It's a little expensive but I like it.Before that stuff was around it was Castrol Syntec

quakerstate Q advanced full synthetic with K&N oil filter since day one!
Valvoline MaxLife 5w-30 on my 01 and the wife's 99. Also run that in our 99 Outback. I'm going to be doing a used oil analysis on the Subaru and my Sunfire here shortly. I'll post up the results if anyone is interested.
5-30 royal purple, with ac filter. Third car I've used this in and love it!
For those that are using in oil filters be careful, they Do Not filter better. They are ment to flow more oil and hold a higher pressure. I think there only 91% efficient compared to 96-99% with other filters on the market.

The 'daily driver' 98 Z24 w/ Eco swap gets whatever is on sale... Walmart brand, etc... but at least it gets regular oil and A/C Delco filter changes. The L67 swapped 'vert gets the cheapest synthetic, whatever's on sale. Walmart synthetic...
I used to spend a lot of money on oil... eg. Mobil 1 synthetic... but it doesn't seem to make a difference what I put in it, as long as I change it on a regular basis and keep it topped up.... no issues here ever.
